DISCLAIMER: I'm just talking about a movie I loved as a kid. I just watched it so I'm thinking about it a lot. You definitely don't have to read it, I just wanted to write it down somewhere. I usually don't geek-out about fictional characters like this (I prefer to talk about real fights and real fighters), but this is stuff that I loved as a kid, so I have a soft spot for it.
^This will always be the real Godzilla to me.
The 1998 Godzilla was one of my favorite movies when I was a kid, I watched it like 5 times a day.
I also think the monster from that movie is way cooler than Toho Godzilla.
I like his speed and agility (runs up to 200 mph), and he seems far more intelligent than Toho Godzilla.
He outsmarted the military on almost every encounter in that movie. He led the three helicopters to a smashed up building, so that they would think he was in there, and then when they were done shooting it up, he smashes through the building behind them and destroys two helicopters, then when he doesn't catch the third one by just chasing after it, he tricks the pilot into thinking he left, and then jumps up from the bottom and pretty much eats it.
They fooled him with the fish thing once (he probably didn't even know what guns or anything like that were at the time), but he clearly learned from it, and didn't fall for it a second time. I also thought it was pretty badass the way he ducked under two of the missiles they fired at him.
They chased him into the water, and one of the submarines fired two torpedos at him, so what did he do? He turned around and swam towards the submarine, and caused the torpedos to hit it instead of him.
He was also intelligent enough to know who was the cause of his babies getting killed.
When he got caught on the suspension bridge, he jumped over the first arch so that he wouldn't get caught on the cables. He leaned down to bite the car he was chasing when he got to the second arch, an didn't have time to jump over it.
I also used to watch the animated series about the American Godzilla (about his son, Zilla Jr), and he was every bit, if not more, powerful than the Toho Godzilla (also possibly more durable and had great regeneration), and had even more speed, intelligence, and agility than his father, which is a lot. I think he's an improved version of the Toho Godzilla (he beat an army of invisible monsters who were impervious to his atomic ray, and an army of invincible monsters, and even kicked his own dad's ass when they brought him back as Cyber-Zilla), and IMO (if it happened without any bias), I think he'd beat Toho Godzilla.
I'm done.
Whale, on a side note:
Finally got around to watching some of PewDiePie's vids since the guys still aren't uploading much after getting back from PAX East. :>
He plays a lot of horror games which freak me out, but he's still funny as shit. XD
