I think it's pretty fun. It'd be even more fun on the PC with mods, though, probably. XD

It's just not my cup of tea. I've never liked games of that genre to begin with, so I don't know why I got Skyrim. I guess I just bought into the hype from the internet.

Thankfully, I only traded a game I had already finished for it, so I'm not out any money. I'll trade it to someone else for a game I'll actually want.

Skyrim is more of a sandbox game intended for role-playing than anything else, and so you'll have to be invested in it in order to enjoy it.

In my opinion the best role-playing game this generation is Dark Souls. The setting is unique and starts off very obscure even to fantasy enthusiasts, and the player has to draw out the story himself. In fact it's possible to finish the game without having any clue of what's actually going on, so in that sense it rewards exploring.

I like that Skyrim doesn't tell just one but many stories within its gameplay. There isn't just the main storyline involving the dragons and Alduin to engross yourself in but the different factions and even the smaller side quests as well.
Some people immerse themselves into it further than others by heavily role-playing their characters but it's fun that you don't have to follow one set path or story. You can make things up as you go along and make your own decisions.
Plus the mythology surrounding the whole Elder Scrolls universe is very fascinating. Especially the different races take on how Tamriel came to be and the different deities roles to the different people.
Iunno, that's just how I see it.

Usually these stories -- or quest-lines -- are generic and not that well written. Not even the main story-line is that well written.

Role-players prefer unique settings that they don't know anything about. That's why so many role-players are drawn to the indie games, because clichés and tropes that are present in the mainstream games, as well as foreknowledge of the setting ruins the suspension of disbelief.

It is very generic. This is because it's an old series founded on lore that, at the time, didn't have to met any literary standards. You'll find the most creative and interesting mythologies in newer fantasy games.

Wait... are you trying to prove me wrong on my opinion about why I like a video game or something? I'm confuzzled.

No. I'm trying to explain to you that there are reasons for why other people may disagree with you.

I need to buy a 2.0, 2.5 and 3.2 bcr,
a 4mm circular claw,
and a 5mm tube and spiral.

And a couple of tapers, depending on which size I have the most difficulty with.

Also, I agree with Kay.

I just started Oblivion last weekend. haermm

I'll start Skyrim sometime in 2017.

Do your Skyrim opinions apply to Oblivion too, Ast? I'd hate to be found playing something you don't like.

I really wanna get Oblivion >.<
Especially the Shimmering Isles DLC cause I effing adore Sheogorath.

360?

I think I still have a copy of Oblivion.

Yes!
Does it have the DLCs as well?

It's Platinum Hits, I'm not sure what comes on disc.

Hmm, I'll think about it.

Let me know. I can do $5 plus the $3 shipping, unless you have a game you want to trade.
