A well paying one? I don't wanna spend two years working at shops and being poor. I wanted to get a good job here and have a good time, but if I can't I may as well go home and pay half the rent and make twice as much again.

Oh! Basically, I keep making it to the end of the interview process only to be told they love me, but unfortunately the company doesn't wanna make the investment in my training etc if I'm not able to stick around for longer than two years. I have professional experience, so naturally I'm not really applying for entry-level jobs. When I do apply for entry-level they tell me I'm overqualified. Vicious circle.

That is frustrating. You could lie about wanting to stay longer?

Tell them you're from the US, then they won't think you're over qualified.

Can't, HR has to see the Visa etc before they offer a job. I would love to stay longer, but alas unless I marry a Brit, I'm boned.

I've been reading really bad fanfiction, it's a bit alarming how many people get off on violence ermm

It's our culture, it links violence and dominance and sexual potency together really badly. Mainly male violence and dominance. Better containing it to fanfiction that real life, I guess...

Dominance and submission is good but violence? That's a bit wrong.

I suppose, but these are like teens writing this shite and thinking it's sexy. Dominance is one thing, but a lot of it crosses the line into actual violence. Dominance is about respect imo, not so much with some of this stuff 😖

Well, dominance can be about respect, but it doesn't have to be. I think it's really based on the same messages that we are taught. It's troubling, but I understand why these people find it arousing, it stimulates things that are reinforced in pop culture every day.

Tumblr, I don't have one or anything, but a simple google search will bring just about anything up for any fandom. Some people are warped haermm
