So closed minded. 🤣
I like what I like. I like actors speaking in a language I can easily understand with cultural references and nuances I can get, I like films shot in areas of the world I'm familiar with, I like Big Budget Spectacle --explosions and car chases and gunfights and tittolies.
That's my individual personal preference.

"OF THE WORLD IM FAMILIAR WITH?". This sounds 😮
Netflix has English Dubbed not English Subtitles English Dubbed, so the voices are English. Some movies are not English Dubbed but on Netflix you have a lot of options, including German.
Netflix and their horrible dubs can suck my dick.
It looks wrong, it sounds wrong, the inflections are weird, it's a crime against humanity!
Subs are the way to go and I still won't watch them!
Yes but you didn't include AREAS "OF THE WORLD IM FAMILIAR WITH?"
I mean North America down to Mexico, The UK, The Philippines and Japan and other places I have briefly been to.
All that means is I don't PREFER Bollywood or Nollywood or Korean Films, or European or Russian etc based movies.
How is this so hard to get?
I enjoy watching movies because I can immerse myself in them and forget about the real world for a little.
I can't immerse myself into something I don't like, or understand or have no references for.
That's why while I like Anime I can't watch it because the immersion is flawed, there's things that take me out of it and I go WTF.
That's not a good time.

Not hard to get just 😘
I mean a lot of directors put a lot of hard work into their movies and you see it come across in their works. For example, China is really into teaching kids the importance of education and they show this by filming movies in a classroom themed setting. Korean movies are all about romantic comedies and coming over adversity themes. Turkey loves their history and will do anything to include the Ottoman empire. Russia loves fantasy themes. Spain has incredible directors who truly have mastered horror and comedy. Italy, well what can you say about Italian cinema? It is perfection, just look at the movie, Cinema Paradiso. Australian love their fantasy movies! French movies tend to deal with equality and a good conversation. But none of these would matter if you cant even appreciate the film industry. I dont mind making up the words for movies when I dont understand a foreign language and those types of barriers really dont matter. So many times have I had more fun watching Chinese parents beat their kids with a broom for getting bad grades and it was hilarious. And you should never let it get in the way of you learning something new.
