See, that's my biggest problem lately. The reliable well sourced thing.
My faith started to crack ever since learning about the Kitty Genovese story. The editor at the time KNEW there were cracks in the "No one cared about a murder" story, and he ignored them anyways. Claimed he didn't want to hurt the story, was confronted by young interns and got pissed at being called out.
From there it just become a matter of noticing the little things. A lie here, a piece of astroturf there, various bs, always the question WHY. And who can you believe in.
I mean, yeah, there are sincere people out there, they just all happen to work for Jeff Bezos types, and I hate that they do because Bezos types are f'n bs incarnate.
