Here's the problem and now please dont take this literal or bias in any form. The way we handle migration and immigration needs to radically change.
The powers that be need to focus on sustainable solutions rather than quick fixes, which is basically to displace people from poverty to places of wealth and commerce.
People or societies need to figure out solutions to solving poverty. Imagine if people of power chose to help make a foreign government economy better! How would you start by solving this issue?
First you would address what people need to survive? Food, shelter, safety, food over their heads----maslow's hierarchy of needs.
So if the powers that be where to say, instead of taking people in we will build them 100 water pumping stations, so that people can have clean water. Then we will provide seeds and livestock so that they can feed themselves. This will provide jobs and stimulate the economy. We will also help other Governments and teach them how to manage an economy.
Obviously the powers that be are corrupt and there are factions within Governments. But what if a stronger economy made other countries stronger? And this is why countries of power do not help other poorer nations because they believe they will become to powerful.
Agree for the most part. Immigration does need to change.
Instead of helping other countries I think the 1st world countries need to shore up their own countries and peoples first and foremost.
Then we can help in a limited fashion the few immigrants that won't fvck up our way of life.
LEGAL immigration fully vetted out should allow hundreds of thousands of quality people in, men-women-kids, not just 18 to 35 men who look like they could start some shit.
At the same time we make the borders super strong so not every schmuck with a backpack can just stroll over with some drugs or other nefarious intent.
And THEN and only then can we work on getting some of these busted ass countries better off for their peoples.

So one cancels each other out, you cant say that only the qualified immigrants can come through because that would mean that only the super elite in their own country can be allowed through the borders.
America has a lot of money and power. If a proper border has not been made then it is for a reason. Drugs are necessary for the influx of the economy. Drugs make people sick and sick people need medical care and pharmaceuticals to sustain themselves. Pharmaceutical companies control the world.
Theres already enough billions to spread around the world, no need to build a strong economy. Politicans are greedy and they only help themselves. The money that is given to charities is never seen by the people it is supposed to help.

We have so much profit living in a developed nation. We throw what we do not need and we replace what is old. We send our garbage to third world countries who will take it. And yet we can not take a few immigrants with a different background?
How can we punish those who we abuse and expect them to follow the rules at the same time for punishing them?

Differences are good, I celebrate all cultures, however, if those different backgrounds include potential terrorist activities or NOT fitting into the culture of the host nation then they're not immigrants they're INVADERS.
