The first Thundercats reboot had promise. So of COURSE it was cancelled and the current awful shows are still ongoing.

The show wasn't perfect, it focused too much on Lion-O which worked in the 1980's but not in 2011, but Panthro and Grune was f'n epic, Tigra was great but they kept teasing him taking over as leader and never pulled the trigger (This vision showed him with the Sword of Omens. A related childhood flashback also had him smash a rotten log bridge dropping Lion-O into a bottomless pit, which was a "WTF" moment treated as a childish prank)

It had issues, but it was serviceable.

Cheetara was hot.

To be fair & honest I can no longer watch the original cartoons of those shows, too fckn cringe for me, but the nostalgia factor is pretty high so when I see a reboot I check it out...and it always disappoints. FVCK!!

Some shows are like that, yeah. I watched the fill Inhumanoids cartoon which I remember being super creepy as a kid, it was AWFUL. Like just cheesy bad, and not cheesy good like He-Man.

For me the 1980's Thundercats actually aged a lot better then I thought it would.
The art design, the action sequences, the characters, right up to that uniquely awkward voice acting that defines the show.

Compared to, say, Dungeons and Dragons, it holds up.

The Adventures of the Galaxy Rangers is another good one that stands the test of time.

Both beat GI Joe and The Transformers at any rate, I only really like those for the nostalgia.

Lemme just give you some examples of how bad Inhumanoids was.

They had Russia as a main villian. You had Russians in these goofy cartoon WW2 era tanks headed to the Earth Core, with the main monster helping the good guys against them.

They had an episode where the monsters go on dates with animated statues and plants and such. Metlar dates the Statue of Liberty, and he's shown doing situps while she's laying on a giant sofa eating rock bon bons and watching TV.

This. Scene.

If the fights were interesting I could take the goofing around, but nothing was good about it except for some of the designs.

I think they were trying to go for the whole Space Ghost serious/silly but went too far in one direction and missed the mark.

Yeah true, the 70's and 80's still had remnants of 60's camp style you saw with Adam West Batman.

I found this Galaxy Rangers interview with some of the writers, it was very revealing about the typical mind set. Basically all they really wanted to write was comedy, but the people in charge wanted serious Clint Eastwood stories, so they had to sneak in the funny where they could.

They couldn't compete with the mastery of Loony Tunes so they coasted making whatever until the 90s when people saw how epic Batman TAS could be.

Yeah you're probably right, everyone wanted to be a Loony Toons writer. The gold standard.

Man, looking at it that way the Loony Toons to BMTAS was a dry well of raw sewage. Like, Yogi Bear and Space Ghost was fun and all, but it's like 20,000 leages beneath those two.

Of course no one really noticed the sewage because Disney held the line with Duck Tales and Jim Henson came in with Muppet Babies, so there was a small breath of fresh air here and there to see us through the dark times.

Ever since that free Xbox One I wasted 100 dollars buying games on croacked, I've been consoling myself with my PC game collection. Right now I'm on Hades, which is just AWESOME.

I know the main character is gay, I didn't really care, but seeing fandom being all about porn kind of males me feel like a dirty furry.

I guess all fandoms do it through, Dragon Ball ans Naturo are full of it at conventions, Sasuke and Naruto or Sasuto (The way kids combine names like is kind of dumb but is what it is..)
