Knew a guy on death row. Death row is a small section in a standard size prison. Went to visit him. Encountered several residents doing their jobs. Sweeping , mopping and such. The most polite helpful respectful people you could ever encounter.

Sure. You sound gullible. I am sure there are a few people in there that were at the wrong place at the wrong time, but that is rare. That aside, any inmate who has a guest would be thrilled to see someone from the outside. And there are cameras in the waiting room, so it wouldn't be smart to have a hissy fit.
