Russia allowing the West to equip Ukraine means they have some motivation to keep pounding away at them so eventually when they win there will be a whole cornucopia of weaponry to assimilate as well as all the resources in that country, especially the nasty little biochemical labs littered around, could be enough of a boost to get Russia back on the Superpower list.
