They've got the A.I. already in place, the self aware stuff that's kept on closed servers in DoD bunkers, they have trained personnel in drone piloting to be agents, they have new quantum computers to run it on, the only thing missing (and in development) is life support tech to keep you under forever. Just a matter of time.

The life support stuff they say is being developed for the trip to Mars, but it's not.

There's already an automated base on Mars gathering material and terraforming for the human crew they're sending.

Just like SpaceX is sending up all kinds of rockets to the temporary moon we have now mining the shit out of it for precious metals and resources.

I just realized something. When people finally have communities on Mars, they will have their own currency. And I don't think martians will like the idea of Earthlings stealing their resources.
