I was watching a documentary yesterday on the gilded age. It talked about familiar happenings--the market was crashing and resources were not be distributed property. Workers did not have benefits and people were not getting paid enough, meanwhile the rich corporations were getting richer. And the American dollar was falling.
So what P.J Morgan did was he got a group of millionaires to lead money to the national Treasury, in order to balance out the economy and have the stocks from falling. Morgan realized that if the currency became worthless, so would the corporation and all his money would have no value.
