Well...you wouldn't need to swim if the northpole melted, as the water wouldn't rise an inch. The reason is that the ice is already floating in the water. The weight of water displaced by the ice floating in the sea equals the weight of the water in the ice -> the sealevel remains constant.

If the glaciers/icecaps/snow/southpole melted though, we would be in trouble.

Yes, the real problem are Greenland and maybe the South Pole.....the North Pole won't matter.....
