Ok, I will give until I go to bed- which is not that long- for any refinements to this plan; in answer to Corlinel's earlier question, btw, yes, it is quite eays to start a fire, though there is no woodland around or anything.

I don't actually have anyone's actions laid out for me since I made my request- I am not really concenred about what you said before that, I want a definitve stated action by players right away.

well..as I last remember Vardalain(dexx) is with fire,as he was wounded,and I ride dexx's horse...
and about the plan...what can I say, my opinion is that we need a small distraction and then run for the gates...that's kinda simple..(an arrow inside in time to opne the gates ofc).Anything more complicated makes our element of surprise vanish...

Yup, granted, but the time for talk and suggestions is over- now you must act, or be acted upon.

Well it is fairly easy we have two options,
A) TpT uses his flash light of Doom as far away as he can, I think this will create distraction enough.
B) We let trickster go on his mission of no return.

After the distraction is started we race for the gate as fast as possible.

He can form light with his staff just as Gandalf does in Moria. Note NOT as Gandalf does at Minas Tirith...

the source of the light does it need to be his staff or can he conjure it like on the other side of the siege?

AFAIK, Gandal's used his staff in Moria...
