APOLOGIES FROM USH TO VETERAN PLAYERS
"Listen, Buster! In Reykyavik it is dark for eight months of the year, and it's cold enough to freeze your wrists off and there's only golly fish to eat! Administrative errors are bound to occur in enormous quantities..."
Graham Chapman in Monty Python, upon being asked why is is taking part in Icelandic Honey week when there is no such thing as Icelandic honey
I may not live in Iceland but errors occur all the time. And this LOTR game has had more than its fair share! So, whilst we have this little hiatus, here are some corrections to events portrayed in the story so far...
1. Spelling. It's spelt Baranar, not Baronar. Oops! Silly mistake, because it is Bara in the same way it is Bara in Barad-Dur (it means 'Tower). The full name means Tower of Fire.
2. Location. I think I put Baranar in the wrong place. It should be on the edge of the South Downs. Doh!
3. Gorlim's background. I gave him a decent sword and an ancestral history. Oops! Gorlim's family is a merchanting one, he got into the aristocratic class via money and his sword is ancestral at all, nor is it Wight-killing decent. Doh!
4. Complete lack of Farael. Lord Farael, Arnor's greatest Battle Lord, should have been with you on this mission, and HE is the guy who should have been making short work of those Wights, with that mithril-spiked warhammer of his (that's a +30 weapon, btw...). It is Farael who will lead the relieving army to Baranar as well.
Ok, so, a few mistakes there but the broad stretch of the story is correct.
With any luck we can also start your relationships with the Lords again. Because they have been crappy so far and that is a very bad thing. You need to work with these people, not against them, else you would simply be excluded from the story. Part 3 will be the best time for that.
