Best Original Movie

... if there is such these days 🤣

And I don't necessarily mean the plot/story but in the film making too

With all these talk of sequels and remakes... I thought I'd ask....

Is it gettting harder to find original material and or/ways of telling a story? Or have they all been there and done that there simply isn't anything new?

And one that comes to mind though not original is The Others. With the release of Sixth Sense, I thought this was well made.

I know when Matrix came out, there's been so much copying of the Bullet-time.

My choices: Trainspotting,28 Days Later,Memento,Fight Club,Evil Dead,Timecode,Solaris & Jackass (Hey it all actually happend not even Hollywoods most experienced stuntperson would attempt some of those things).

28 Days Later. That movie rocked! Except that there were 2 ladies in front of my sister and I, that had a baby that wouldn't shut up! 😠 I hate babies. 😠

The Matrix, best plot, best filmmaking, best effects, best actions. Best everything. This series (especiallly the first) is pure genius.

Okay, I will watch 28 Days Later. It's out in the cinema's at the moment.

I thought Trainspotting as too damn weird.

I liked Fight Club! Edward Norton is just too good an actor!!

matrix isnt original , they stole the idea off of some australian comic book.. forget the name though.. something like the untouchables. well anyway the idea was the same

I dont know, all movies are based upon something. Even the intentions used to create them arent original. Most of them are homage to things the creators like etc. well I can probably name a few

Alien, blade runner, Solaris , Ringu , The messenger (even if it was based off of Jean of Arc) , Legend , The Relic , The Crow (did the comic justice) , Dawn of the dead , The mummy ..... thats really all I can name off the top of my head

Pirates of the Caribbean is orginal.... isn't?

Pirates sort of borrowed from many other classic pirate stories. But, it did a good job of it.

Two of my favorite original movies are David Lynch's 'Wild At Heart' and Jim Henson's 'The Muppet Movie'.

Another film i thought was original is Groundhog Day. Bill Murray does one of his best performances of his career.
