Stan Lee had almost nothing to do with this group of X-Men from the books other then to have "Stan Lee Presents" in the beginning of every issue.

Alright, I looked at my books and the oldest issue of Uncanny X-Men I have is #119 where the X-Men are in Japan fighting a guy named Moses Magnum who can create earthquakes. This is the Issue where Banshee burns out his voice for years to come. This book has Chris Claremont listed as doing the script and co-plotting with John Byrne who is doing the pencils and that was 1978. Claremonts last book was the new X-Men series issue #3. So not sure what my point is but it is a nice little bit of trivia.
