What do mean by it HAS to be ron and hermy? I just don't see how that is. Besides, if you look in the books, you see that Jk Rowling uses many examples of the element of surprise. It turns out completly different than what you think. For example, when everyone thought that Snape was the servent of Voldemort, it was actually Quirell. When everyone thought that Draco was behing the attacks, it was actually Ginny being controlled by Tom Riddle. When it seemed that Sirius Black was the criminal, it was actually Scabbers a.k.a. Peter. When it looked like it was Crouch Senior who had robbed Snape's office, it was in fact his son: Crouch Jr. Another instance is when Harry is having dreams of things that are happening far away. When Harry has a dream about Voldemort torturing Sirius it seems as if the dream is true. But it wasn't. J.K. Rowling uses this effect quite alot. What's to say that she won't use it again and put Harry and Hermione together?
I don't think Hermoine and Ron will end up together either and that whole moment in movie 3 where he grabs Ron's arm - quite frankly I think whatever she was feeling at the time when she heard the news made it an impulsive reaction and if Harry had been the one standing there it would have just as easily been his arm she grabbed. The only reason why Rowling put Ron there is because it has more of a comedy element to it where they look at each other and are like 'euw' lol and pull away. The friction I think it just part of their relationship and it is necessary to portray a more interesting friendship between the trio, it's like Ron and Harry are close but they still have their friction when it comes to Harry's wealth and achievements and between Ron and Hermoine there is the bickering - it just adds spice because otherwise it would seem like Harry and Ron are best friends and Hermoine is just an extra. If there was no bickering between those two it would also show less of Hermoine's character because her relationship with Harry is close but pretty dull to read about - they are friend's but she's like a matron at the same time to him, constantly giving him advice and telling what he should be doing and not doing. Which is why with Ron, we see more characteristics.
That is how I think Rowling lets us see the most of these three as individuals as well as a group by the way they interact with each other and have different relationships with the trio but also as the trio as a whole - without the intimate differences they would jus tbe an average fighting evil trio with an identity but not identities. Rowling must know this and probably also knows that people will jump to the easiest conclusion about Ron and Hermoine hence she can lead them on and keep them thinking that as that's what mystery authors do and then all of a sudden they show the plot in a totally different light.
I don't see why Hermoine has to get a romantic partner at all, she's got sooo many other things she's passionate about. Plus she's got this long distance relationship with Krum and I think it should stay like that - it was with him that she showed everybody she has a different side to her and that even her closest shouldn't assume they know her inside out.
