Heck, is Gundy busy again? Darn...
Ok, your ship descends through the atmosphere and onto the dark planetary sutrface. VIsibility is very low- 'particulate matter in the atmosphere' seems to not quite do this place justice. It looks like a permanent high-powered sandstorm out there! Only it does not quite look like sand. And it is, indeed, very dark and gloomy. You cannot even see Kuylen's ship from here. You have have the lock-on singal, about two minute's walk away.
It doesn't look at all nice out there.
The hatchway on the Nexu's Grin lowers, and you step out onto the surface.
The first thing you hear is the wind- a high-pitched, howling wind. The air is being blasted around at high speed and the noise is continuous.
This makes the air worse. The endless bits being blown around threaten to start cutting away at your face. It's definitely not sand- now you can see it, have it blasted across your face, and taste it, you can see- it is grit, and dirt.
The wind continues to howl. The gritstorm continues to blast everywhere. You hope this isn;t a long stay, Xeth- a few days in this and your ship will start to erode.
You can see through the howling dust and wind, though not too far. And it is very cold and dark- colder than a planet this close to its sun should be.
You have a direction on Kuylen's ship.
No, nothing hostile, Roan.
You struggle on for a few minutes, and before long the hazy outline of Kuylen's ship comes into view.
Something is wrong. It's not what you expected.
When you get closer, the full scale of the problem becomes clear. You can see where the spine of the ship has cracked open from the inside, scattering itself over a wide area, and the rest of it has collapsed down all around it, unable to support itself.
This ship has been destroyed on the ground. Certainly no accident, Roan. Hostile action.
"Calm down, Master Marcus, I sense nothing in there..." Xeth says. He has put on a breath mask, as well as a pair of goggles to keep him from being blinded by the constant storm of grit about him. He keeps the rest of his body and his weapons covered by the Geonasian light battle armor and his dark brown Jedi robes, which he has wrapped about him as if a cocoon had formed itself about him, as young Geonasians have to do, as he had done.
"It's pretty nasty out here..." Xeth says, approaching the shattered ship, looking for cover from the constant storm. He searches through the ship for any clues as to why the ship is ruptured. "If this is another illusion I'll kill Kuylen myself..."
The ship was blown up, THAT is for sure. It could have been self-inflicted, but that strikes you as insane, as Xeth says- how would you go home again?
The second mystery is why park here? Well, actually, you do have one lead- this is near one of those power sources U9 detected. And near this ship is an enormous dry valley you can head down into.
