Kir Ascar, Master of the Endless Circle

Kir Ascar's real name is in fact Mal Sannan, and was once a Jedi. Mal Sannan was a very promising Jedi- talented, intelligent, and with a midi-chlorian count almost as high as Master Yoda's.

Sadly, one thing Sannan certainly lacked was discipline. His adolescence was particularly moody and, aged 13, he left the Order, a barely trained Padawan. This was not a common occurence and was quite a news event at the time.

For most people this was the end of the story. Sannan disppeared like Kuylen- he was never assumed dead but certainly no trace was found of him. From what is known, two things happened to Sannan in the intervening decades:

1. He acquired a great taste for acquring artifacts and arcana of the Jedi and Sith, as part of a wider interesting in discovering ALL the secrets of the Force

2. His training was completed- somewhere outside the Republic. Ascar later referred to the place of his training as the planet 'Sirckara'.

Sannan returned to civilised life as businessman Kir Ascar. He quickly became very rich- dealing in both artifacts and being very 'lucky' at gambling, especially card gaming, Eventually he settled on Malastare, the incredibly rich head of a major gambling business, with links to the political establishment and the Hutts alike.

Ascar is VERY powerful with the Force- very powerful indeed, but he rarely has cause to use it. One thing certainly stands out about Ascar's training- he completely rejects the Jedi's view of the Force. He believes theire is no Light or Dark Side- and that there is no life or death He believes instead in the concept of Telebiogenesis, the continuous rebirthing of one life form into another. He describes this as the central lynchpin of the Force, which he sees not as Light and Dark, Living and Cosmic, but as an Endless Circle.

The truth could be debated for centuries. Ascar is poweful regardless. Whilst he exhibits many traits that are distasteful- greed, deceit, manipulation- he is not, by any definition, on the Dark Side. He is always perfectly calm and rational and does not let his emotions control him.

Whilst Ascar may only be an irritation rather than a direct threat, he is still a problem. Ascar took on two pupils but he proved as impatient a teacher as he did learner- and his pupils most CERTAINLY went to the Dark. The issues following his pupils are what led to Ascar's exposure as Sannan and his current situation- facing trial for a number of offences involving impeding a Jedi investigation. However, little hope is held for a severe sentence.

Ascar is charming, always ready to deal, handsome and well-dressed but somewhat elderly- he looks like Malcolm MacDowell. He seems to treat everyone as a good friend but has a great habit of somehow making them feel small. He always radiates intelligence and precision. And his force senses are VERY acute- and somehow, time and time again, those around him end up doing what he wants.

Balek, deadly bounty hunter

Balek was raised on the deadly frontier world of Gauda Prime, where learning to kill at a young age was the only way to survive. Gauda Prime was the victim of lax Republican laws failing to prevent what amounted to a suspension of its penal code- as companies wanting to exploit its mineral resources wanted a quick way to deal with the farmers in the way. Once the law was removed from Gauda, the slaughter began. Minerals started to flow, and with no law there, scum, scoundrels and criminals of all sorts fllourished there. Balek, his farming parents shot dead before his eyes, soon learned to give no quarter and no pity in order to survive.

Decades late, after the company men became rich and wanted rid of all these criminals, the Republic came to Gauda Prime's rescue. Organising a clean-up was difficult and some legal problems obstructed Jedi involvment. Instead, funds were diverted to nearby local authorities to deal with the problem.

Which meant this- Gauda Prime became the biggest bounty hunter hotspot in the Galaxy. Millions upon millions were being paid to have every scum, scoundrel and criminal on Gauda Prime rooted out and killed. This was a good opportunity for Balek, who put his callous skills of killing to as much use as before- now being paid for it. Balek emerged as the most successful Bounty Hunter on Gauda Prime- it made his name.

It was on another primitive world that the now famous Balek had the second defining moment in his life. He raped a girl for pleasure- although arrested for it, the archaic laws of that world which considered women as owned by the males of their family meant that he received only a 500 credit fine for damaging property. As for an appeal to Republican law- you have to be joking!

Her brother, however, did not take kindly to this, and took Balek to task personally. This was a problem though- her brother was a Jedi. And in a moment of what the Council called 'weakness', he cut off Balek's arm. Ironically, the same laws that Balek had abused now abused him- the Jedi's actions were judged fair retribution- although he had to re-pay Balek his fine!

The Council, of course, took a dim view of the matter and the Jedi, having given into anger, has been receving treatment and counselling ever since. For Balek, this was a disaster. The arm he replaced, with a cybernetic one full of weapons and tricks that serve him well. But his lifetime of combat experience had proven useless- the Jedi was so fast, the lightsabre so unstoppable! Balek developed a deep, utter and total hatred for all things Jedi, for all things sabre. Ever since, he has worked on developing a style that he can fight a Jedi- or other force user- with, and equipment to match.

Those who have fought Balek can attest to the success of his methods, those who have not can find out the hard way. Some of the Jedi and ALL of the Dark Siders have a bounty on them- most hunters who take it are dead meat the moment they come near their target but Balek is the one to look out for. He is cunning, and chooses his moment well, only fighting on HIS terms- and NEVER being stupid enough to fight a Jedi on a Republic world, with all the legal implications.

Balek is an enormous problem to both sides- but so far he has only wounded, not killed, any of his targets.

Balek is tall, and dresses in patched, rough travelling gear; he has messed-up curly hair and a very noticeable scar over his right eye; he has a grizzled, worn face and is quite brusque in person. And for a non-Force User, he is VERY fast.

Rura Ta. Dark Side Weapons Specialist

Rura Ta was born on the watery world of Kamino, like the rest of his fellow Kaminoans. Unlike his fellow Kaminoans, he looked outwards to the stars and surrounding areas, rather than be content with the spaces offered by his birthplace, Tipoca City. Being a Kaminoan, he is tall and lanky, clothed in a dark hi-tech suit that provides warmth or cold air, depending on his surroundings. His black eyes are penetrating and lidless, his iris specked with silver. His skin is pale and white, and he has a ridge on the top of his head that indicates that he is male.

He met Galder during one of his smuggling jobs. Galder had been hired to steal a supply of saberdarts, but it did not go as planned. He was soon surrounded by Kaminoan guards, but Rura saw it as a chance to get off of Kamino and see the galaxy. He helped Galder escape, under the rules that he could tag along as he pleased.

He was discovered to be talented with the Force, and Galder taught him what he could with a lightsaber, though he prefers to use his giant, sleek heavy blaster. He is well experienced in using exotic weapons. His lightsaber is a strange turquoise color, which suites his strangeness just fine. He has a knack for disappearing at the worst times, and showing up just in time for the end of a fight. He joined Kuylen and his band of Dark Jedi when Galder suggested to Kuylen that he should tag along.

Trorn, Jedi Acolyte

Trorn is a long-standing Jedi Disciple from the planet Talorthane. His people have exceptionally quick mental processes for what other people consider tedious tasks- in short, they make great clerks, administrators, librarians etc.

Trorn is one of the Council's representatives. He will often be the person who asks you to come before the Council if they have sent for you, and will guide you there when you do.

Trorn is not the most social of people. He tends to get caught up in his various administrative tasks. He also comes across as smug and arrogant, but somehow likeable as well.

As far as you know, he has never left the Temple since his training ended.

Hopefull Ush wont kill me for ressurecting this thread But with New players and all I thinkIt woudl be a good Idea and I wanna re-work my own history.

Oh yeah, it will all go in the Archival reference eventually.

History: born on the planet of coruscant, Aanathan was raised in the temple of the sith.just after his graduation he attended a confrence of the republic just to be turned down on his ideals of the jedi council and of the dark side. after being escorted outside he was attacked by elite guards for his ideals of the republic and was in the hospital for weeks, facing near death the operation droids only hope to save him was to infuse his blood with mealted cobalt. after his return he vowed to destroy the republic but not for war but for peace.some consider his ideas radical and terroristic but he sees it differently as do the jedi council,and the sith.

I'll just add my guy to the list:

My name is Kiu Dun of Onderon. My family was a major player in the politics of Onderon until we moved here to Coruscant to protect the Senator from Onderon. I was noticed by a Jedi Master named Renna Jace while she was at a meeting with my family. She noticed that I was a Miraluka and instantly took me in after she examined me.

My first mission with my Master was one to the world of Alderaan. We were to take out a Crime boss but it went horribly wrong and it ended up with my Master being captured. When I returned, the Council promoted me to a Jedi Knight and from there went on numerous missions.

One fo my last missions was to the planet of Correllia. I was sent there to help sort out a problem between two of the politicians. When I got there, I instantly found out that one of politican I was supposed to help was killed in cold blood by what looked like a lightsabre. I went out from there and met with the other politician at the location.
When I arrived, I found the politician dead on the ground and a Dark Jedi standing over his lifeless body. It was my Master.

I pulled out my lightsabre and rushed at her, hoping to at least get revenge. I was able to keep up with her for long enough that I was able to get away. She followed me and then I lunged at her and cut off her hand. That was the last I saw of her.

The next week, my sister was killed along with two of my brothers. I found out later that it was my former Master, Renna Jace.

I left the Order soon after and started to wander. I later became the bodyguard to the senator from Onder in honor my sister and my brother's deaths. I gave up the position and trained my companion. I finally came to help the Renegades to find a way to cope with my loss.
