Description: A native of New Orleans, this clever cajun character is a thief whose mutant talent enables him to convert an object's stored potential energy into kinetic energy. Gambit enhances his kinetic energy power with superior martial arts skills. Remy Lebeau also has the power of hypnotic charm which is a subtle psychic ability to win trust. By trade, Gambit is ranked among the world's master thieves. He became an X-Man after he befriended Storm, co-leader of the X-men. Althought Gambit is a thief, he only steals from crooks, gamblers and other criminals.
There is another important thing to mention about Gambit's power. It seems that now, he can charge organic matters (like flesh) and that he doesn't always need to touch the object that he wants to charge in order to succeed. New son had allowed his power to become stronger. We don't know yet the extend of these. But it seems that Gambit's kinetic powers could destroy the World... (Gambit #21)

Description: As Mystique's foster daughter, Rogue began her career as a member of the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants. But after absorbing Ms. Marvel's power of flight, superstrenght and invulnerability, Rogue joined the X-Men to learn how to control them. The sweet-talking southern belle has become the X-Men's airborne strong arm, while at the same time stealing the heart of the X-Men's cajun thief, Gambit.
About Rogue's real name, it is mentioned in the new X-Men Movie (2000) that it is Marie. However, in the comics, it is still unknown. Therefore, despite the fact that it is said in the movie, we still don't know her real name. The movie had gone through many changes, it didn't stay faithful to the original story.
What Gambit said to Rogue: "You've spiced up dis Cajun's life like no other woman, chérie. Only problem is, dere be t'ings 'bout my past I shoulda told ya but was 'fraid of what you'd think. Maybe it's not in de cards for us to be together, but dat don' mean I gonna stop tryin'!!"

Full Synopsis:
When we left our intrepid heroes, they were about to be blown sky-high by a rather distraught young woman named Marie. Rogue manages to grab and restrain her hand before she can push the trigger as Cannonball leaps into action and rockets Marie away from the club. Rogue hitches a ride, still struggling with Marie, and surprises them all when, several miles above the ground, she whips out a knife and cuts through the bomb harness. She and Marie plummet to earth, while Sam still holds the bomb, which Marie detonates. Marie rants and raves as she and Rogue spiral to their deaths, but Sam catches them both at the last minute. Returning to the club, Lila is so happy to see Sam that she teleports them both away to gods know where, leaving Rogue, Bishop and Sage to deal with Marie. Bishop notes that Rogue couldn't fly, a fact which saddens her, but she seems to have accepted it.
Back at the president's ranch, the weather inexplicably becomes incredibly dangerous, grounding all transport in and out of the complex. As the staff scrambled to get the leaders to safety, the mother of all tornados looms over the compound. Things look grim, but then a woman's face appears in the center of the tornado and it dissipates. "Much later", Gambit is taking care of an utterly wiped out Storm. He gently chides her for being a show off while Storm takes a quick dip in a nearby lake. The two share a kiss. "Rogue would kill us for this," Storm says, but Gambit replies that it's just a kiss, dismissing it by saying Rogue has his heart. Val Cooper and some cronies interrupt the tender moment. Val asks Storm if she caused the freak weather, a question to which Storm seems to take slight umbrage.
Marie has wound up in Rogue's house, where she's as belligerent as one might expect. Rogue starts talking about all of the innocent people that Marie almost killed, saying that she wants to know why. Marie, heatedly, talks about the car accident that killed her parents and little brother, about how the police refused to do anything, and about how she was approached by representatives of the local X-Corp to cease her quest for justice or be charged with harassment and possibly a hate crime. Not long after, she was driven out of her home, again by X-Corp. Marie vows to Rogue that if she gets the chance, she's going to try her plan again.
