"Their temporary base is about twenty miles south of us. That's where they're going to do it," Dimitrius said.
"Do what?" Edele asked.
"Recite a spell that will reverse all vampires. Instead of light causing us to decompose, darkness will," Dimitrius replied.
"When will it happen?" Jezebel asked.
"Two nights from now," Dimitrius said, "at midnight." Dimitrius then grabbed his head in pain. The slayer side began to take over.
"Thank you, friend," Drakul said as he staked him in the heart. Dimitrius turned to ashes. His soul, along with the two slayers, flew into Drakul and out into the night.
"Wait..." Drakul said, "I don't feel Dimitrius inside of me."
"What?" Edele asked.
"What happened?" Dimitrius asked weakly getting up. He looked around the cave. He walked to the edge of the cave, but was too late. The sunlight hit him. He yelled and held his hand over his face, but he felt no pain. He looked at his arm and saw it was transparent. Two figures appeared in front of him. He jumped back, realizing they were slayers. They both had black clothing and sunglasses.
"Have no fear, Dimitrius," one of them said. "We cannot harm you, and you cannot harm us."
"What happened?" Dimitrius asked.
"You were killed by another demon. Your soul has been exiled," the other slayer replied.
"If I'm dead, then how are you even seeing me? And what do you mean, 'exiled'?" Dimitrius asked.
"Our sunglasses have microchips inside that allow us to see between worlds. And we say exiled because you are trapped on this plane, but there is one way to be freed. You must kill the one who killed you. Since you are a spirit, that's virtually impossible. That's why we're here."
"Why do you want to help me?" Dimitrius asked.
"So you can help us," the slayers said.
"Help you?" he asked.
"Yes. We provide you with a temporary body. Just keep him busy while we complete the spell. Once he dies from the darkness, your aid in his death will meet the criteria and your soul will be free.
Dimitrius sighed and shook the slayer's hand.
