She saw someone out of the corner of her eyes, and for a fleeing moment she thought that that person was also a vampire. With super human like powers, she jumped up a great distance, grabbing a hold of a ladder that was hanging ten feet above her. She began to climb up it frantically. She hoped that the vampire wouldn't follow her.
She gasped slightly, looking at the person in front of him. "Not another one."
Mariska spun around, and started to run again. She ran towards the roof ledge, noticing that their was a gap to the next roof. Exausted from jumping upwards, she was afraid what would happen if she attempted to jump the gap. Reaching the ledge, she did what she had to do and jumped. It felt like she was sort of flying, but the problem was, she hadn't estimated that the lack of energy she had would make her have less of a jump. She soon began to fall, falling towards the ground, until she slammed into the road below.
"Thanks." she muttered, as she got up.
Mariska studied the vampire, not sure of what to do. This right here, in front of her, was someone she was suppose to be killing, and he in turn was suppose to kill him. But neither did that, because the vampire had helped her.
"Why are you helping me?" she barely managed to gasp.
For some reason, Mariska blushed. This wasn't a killer, and to think she could have wound up killing him. That made her think. How many vampires did she kill that were really good?
"I never thought of it that way." she amiitted in a whisper. "I probably killed so many of your people that are most likely as good as you."
