well i guess it probably has to do with his connection to Smith. i mean if he had the power to enter the real world then maybe neo was some how connected to the machines through smith. since this connection seems not to have happened before then maybe thats how zion survives at the end of film3( if it does survive) 😬

and the whole point of reloaded was to challenge everything you THOUGHT you knew about the matrix, why would this be any different...and besides, (and im not sure cause my version wasnt the best in the world) some parts of the real were tinted green, and some parts of the matrix were tinted blue in reloaded...

Smith said he was connected to Neo, In M1 we learn't that agents are "connected" to the sentinals. We also MIGHT have learn't that Neo can be in BOTH the matrix and real world t the same time. SO WITHIN the matrix he is connected to Smith who is connected to the Sentinals/machines, and THAT is how it happens.

Don't try and pin down a definitive answer else we will argue and never get it done, just put down the most common ideas. Then I can stick that up the top of the page and with any luck we can get the upcoming flood of people to read that first...

However I also think all the clues point to that.
One of the themes of the movies is “What IS real.” There are only two options. It’s real or it isn’t, if you catch my drift.
Real is presented by the real world of the Matrix, Zion, the sentinels etc. etc. etc.
The un-real/virtual world is represented by the Matrix.
There is no third way (save the mixing of the two, Neo absorbing a program code, Smith downloading himself into Bane, the child).
So if The real is not real, it’s just a repetition of M1. This, btw, is one of the reasons I think Neo won’t die. We HAVE already BEEN past the topics of “the real world isn’t real” and “Neo dies” in the first movie. Why on Earth would the Wachoskis repeat themselves??
