"Either Must Die in the Hands of the Other". The Lost Prophecy

Yeah...Voldemort had to start somewhere. He wasn't born an amazingly powerful wizard, he made himself that. So who's to say that somebody else couldn't do it? I just re-read Goblet Of Fire, and it made me want to get my hands on the 6th book even more than I already wanted to. Anyway, maybe Karkaroff will end up trying to kill Harry. He does love the Dark Arts, and he was once a Death Eater.

I think Snape and Harry will become close in the last 2 books, and Snape may even take Harry under his wing. Also, I'll bet Snape gets the Dark Arts job finally, and proceeds to be the best Dark Arts teacher thay've ever had.

i think that harry will kill V but i think that ron will sacrifiece himself so harry can kill him.

i think that it would have to be harry's prophecy becoz he picked it up and didnt get hurt, but im not sure if thats just coz it was his name on it or not...

we went thru all this ages ago, it was harrys prophesy because voldemort chose harry as his rival, not neville, so when voldemort tried to kill harry, that meant that harry was marked as his equal.....
its may not mean the scar, it means that in voldemorts head that harry is the one hes sees as a threat 😄

I agree! i don't think sirius will take him under his wing nessecarily, but i do think they will become quite close! or at least i hope they do. i hope he gets the DADA job, he does deserve it!!!

Yeah. I just thought about this, too...I think sometime in the end, Draco will end up saving Harry somehow, maybe by stopping his dad from doing something to him, or whatever. But I just have that feeling for some reason.

^that sounds like a very realistic idea to me, just cuz it would put such an interesting twist on Harry and Draco's relationship. And i totally think that JK could pull off another dark wizard (after voldy), cuz in one of the books Dumbledore was talking about the death eaters, and he said something to the extent of some of the death eaters being almost as bad as voldy himself.

i dont care what she thinks up.... but the books cant end!!!!!!

i think she will bring out more books to do with harry, just not straight after....i expect we'll hear more of it a few eyars after the last book

i sure hope so...i'm just worried about what i'll do for those few years b/w books!

When people keep sayin Harry will die killin Voldy or in order for Voldy to die Harry must die well thats silly does no one re-read the books its said something along these lines Harry either has to kill Voldy or be killed by Voldy (one must survive and the other will die) which one this is is a different matter!

Also it is not defenatly Harrys Prophecy actually because when Harry reads the plaque under the ball it says Voldys name and Harrys but it has a '?' after Harrys name (if you don't believe me re-read the 5th book) its the chapther where they reach the department of misteries? So it is not defenatly Harrys prophecy if you read into the ? beside his name!

Oh and also the scar is just the mark of the curse Voldy did not mean to do this so that is not where he marked him as his equal!

Oh and the whole Voldy surviving after the curse hit him well in one of the books it said he had worked out ways for him not to die but for him to always be an inch away from death or somethin like that? Oh I think it was at the end of the 4th book when Voldy comes back he said this?

if you reread the books, dumbledore actually says that there is no doubt that the prophesy is harrys, also, i dint mean that the scar was his mark... but if you think about it, the prophesy said something along the lines of that Voldemort would pick him as his equal, and he hasnt picked Neville..... i am pretty certain that the prophesy isnt about neville..... reread the 5th book and play close attention to when dumbledore is explaining things, its quite clear!!!!
also... the books are called Harry Potter, therefore, it would be a bit stupid if the prophesy was Nevilles!!!!!!!
although i do think that with a better wand neville will be a bigger character, and wont be quite as useless!!!!!

CheekyMunkey ahs got it right. Dumbledore says that the prophecy is Harry's, and with Voldemort coming after Harry, there is no doubt. The scar is the mark, because it wasn't until that scar was made that Voldemort began coming after Harry.

I think Neville will play a huge role in the next books. He will finally get a wand that works for him, rather than his father's wand(remember, the wand picks the person, and Neville's wand was given to him.).

1. I think i'm the only person that thinks that harry has to sacrifice himself to kill volde....it's just a theory, it doesn't mean that i think thats definately the way it will end.

2. We have already been through the question mark thing on the prophecy, i bought it up somewhere in this thread.....read it if you don't believe me.....so not everyone says that it's definately his, but some ppl choose to still believe that it is....personally i don't know, it cud be nevilles, but then i don't think it is from the perspective that it will ruin the books, not caus the prophecy says so, and i think JK has more sence than that.

3. I have also made this same point about the scar adn that it's possible that n e wizard cud recieve the same scar from surviving a curse. and most have agreed that both sides of the story are possible.

yeah, you guys are saying basically the same things i was gunna say. The fifth book makes it very clear that the prophecy has to be Harrys. the question mark was there b/c at the time they weren't sure if it was Harry's or Nevilles. But since that time it can easily be seen that its gotta be Harry's.

Nobody else has that scar because nobody else survived the Avada Kedavra curse. Harry did, and that resulted in Voldemort's downfall. Now he's back, and he's going after Harry, not Neville.
