I know well enough that any Incredible Cross-Sections Star Wars book will be incorrect about destructive power of SW weapons or shields. Even heavy turbolasers mounted on Star Destroyers can only fragment 25-meter wide asteroids, whereareas shipboard phasers can vaporize comets much bigger than the asteroid heavy turbolasers only fragmented.
star wars is way cooler. i actually like both star wars and star trek, but star wars is miles ahead. no action scenes in trek equal a saber duel. i know star wars is way cooler because watching star trek i often think how cool it would be to see a jedi show up on enterprise and take out all the security (before realising their not evil). watching star wars ive never thought "wouldnt it be cool if a guy with pointy ears and a bowl cut showed up telling everyone about logic". and what is with all the sparks shooting from every computer in star trek. they get hit once and every computer on board is either shooting sparks or erupting into flames, yet every single one of them continues to function. how can having the hull hit make everything of the bridge put on such a light show, and exactly what happens inside those computers that allow them to spark like that, and allot them to continue working. ive always hated that about star trek. anyone have an explaination?

power disuption and feedback in circuitry... not everything can be fixed with a spanner and some elbow grease...
