He probably means it as I'm just a Smith. Like you're a jigga and I'm a priest. Anyhow, I guess it doesn't really matter....
im thinking something more like he doesnt have a first name...like neo..just smith...thats it. but even when he says,"A Smith" it could be takena as a class of agent when he was under control.
kinda like having differnet classes of agents, like in the new one there were upgrades...so maybe their called Johnson agents...etc etc..
