New overly computerized horror vs. old school effects terror

Which is better?I don't care for a lot of the movies that have come out that are overtly computerized.Like you can totally tell.It just takes away from the movie.I like the old style where there was no real crazy special computer effects.Dont get me wrong a lot of the new movies with computer effects are good, but some just depend too much on the computer and you just dont believe it.So what does everyone else prefer?

i don't care

Old school effects by far

Though some new effects are good. (Irreversible)

i like them combined .F/X kick ass though, nothing better than the boys who get down and dirty with there bad selves, doing all the molding and sclulpting it just gives people a great feeling for the movie, to know that that thing in the screen is real. is nice. But i think the best can come from cooperation rather than discremenation its all good eigther way because F/X never matter its the story that counts

What an unfair title! It is hardly right to right a title criticising one and then asking people which is better.

i like old school but both are great.

haha, i didn't even notice that. Probably because alot of the computer effects put into horror movies are so obviously fake that you can't take them seriously. Mostly this is because of the low budgets most horror movies have to endure.

Like i said, there are some completely mind blowing CGI effects in horror movies. Check out Irreversible for an example.

when its fake you know its fake, as simple as that, it will be a couple more decades before this changes IF it ever changes

Some effects look incredibly realistic.

old style is best...

That's my opinion and I can post it up however I please,so don't get all bent outta shape, that's just how I chose to write it.Apparently it didn't bother anyone else. And I was asking an opinion on movie effects, not my titling skills.

it depends on what kind of movie it is, but for horror it is defienitly old school efects.

likwe 1I said b4 i don't care but same new visualised effects r really lame.

I like a combination. But digital effects should be cloaked in darkness and be more impressionistic, as when they are observed in all their glory they are obviously CGI. Physical /Tangible old schooll effects work well if they are skillfully executed, but can look comedic.again less is more. I suppose it depends on the budget and the effects crew working on it.

I'm on the fence with this. The old-school effects are great, but so are computer effects. Both work to help bring the movies to life if used well. However, if either effects are mediocre, then the movie just wouldn't be as effective.
