Why would smith bother

Why would Smith even bother fighting neo 1 v 1 if there is a chance he could be killed.....he has almost infinate power, but yet he would piss it away, this dosnt sound much like a machine, cause i wouldnt assume a machine has 'pride'.

Smith is becoming more like a human, thus, more emotional, more hellbent on killing Neo, at all costs...

hehe...and if Neo can really be defeated by a cookie shake n' baker? 😂
