feet

i have never been a big lotr fan, but why do they have big nasty feets?

Not all of the the characters have big nasty feet, only the hobbits. Number one the reason Hobbits have big feet, is because for padding since they didn't wear shoes and they walked quite a bit, the hair on their feet also helped in keeping their feet warm. All of the other characters such as, Men, elv's, orcs and wizards do not have big feet. Hope this answer's your question

I'd prefer wearing shoes, but i think that having shoe/feet is quite unique, i guess....
