Jedi> The MOV file is the Quicktime file, it's a quicktime movie file. The ZIP file that you would normally download just has the MOV file zipped in it. When you go to the link, don't left-click on it, right-click on the link, and select the "Save Target As.." option.. then you can choose where to save the MOV to your computer.

Believe me, it's all the same, I've been doing this kinda stuff for awhile.
There is an alternative. It is called QT Alternative 🙂 and you can download it from here : http://apps.deck13.co.uk/klite/quicktimealt121.exe It's aroun 6 megs. You can use it to watch mov files in any player.

Also, I can see why one would want the Quicktime Alternative, but I prefer the actual Quicktime, since the player is much more stylish, and I have the new iTunes for Windows installed... plus I have Quicktime Pro, which is a $30 upgrade where you can just click on the down arrow of any Quicktime movie and press "Save as source" or "Save Quicktime movie..." which comes in handy when the ZIP link isn't given yet 🙂 I recommend to all, especially you Jedi, you'd appreciate that. www.apple.com/quicktime for info.
