144 Guests were at Bilbo's Birthday Party. ( keep in mind that it was also Frodo's Birthday as well )

What was Frodo and Bilbo's Birthday ? And how old were they ?

Binga the Sword is Anguirel.

Really, thank you! Which story did that sword come into. In The Silmarillion, it said the other sword did not come into the story, so that was all that was told...

Frodo was 33 and Bilbo was 111 or Elventy-one 😛

and their birthday was Sept. 22

Aurora, where did you find out where the other sword came in?

I'll admit that I finally gave up and used the Ency. of Arda. I tried my best to find it without help, I know I have read of it some where but alas after a few days I broke down and looked it up.

it says so in FOTR

Who's sword is it?

Eöl kept Anguirel for himself after he gave Anglachel (correct spelling) to King Thingol as a fee to live in Nan Elmoth. Eventually his son Maeglin stole it from him, and presumably took it with him when he went to Gondolin with his mother Aredhel. That is all told in the Second Edition of the Silmarillion, the one with the purple cover with art of the Awakening of the Elves.

how many Silmarilions are there?, a bit offtopic I know, now back too topic, what was the name of Melkor's fortress in the north?

Yeah, I'm reading it. I've read all that a few times... I sometimes have to go back and read it twice... are you sure that Anguirel is in that story... because when Anglachel came into the story, Tolkien just said the other sword does not come into this story... and that was that.

There are three Silmarillions. Melkor/Morgoth's fortress is called Angband. 🙂

I thought Melkor's fortress was Udun?

Udun was his stronghold.

I think that I'm going to be reading The Silmarillion about 5 more times to get half the information that it contains... 😬

Oh.....erm......well any more questions?

Oh, I have a question... okay, you know the Map of the West in The Silmarillion The 2nd Edition... where is Angband, is it not on there?

Ppl this is suppose to be trivia!

Sorry Kes! Why did Maeglin betray Gondolin to Melkor/Morgoth?

Wow.....that's hard.....
