Eöl kept Anguirel for himself after he gave Anglachel (correct spelling) to King Thingol as a fee to live in Nan Elmoth. Eventually his son Maeglin stole it from him, and presumably took it with him when he went to Gondolin with his mother Aredhel. That is all told in the Second Edition of the Silmarillion, the one with the purple cover with art of the Awakening of the Elves.

Yeah, I'm reading it. I've read all that a few times... I sometimes have to go back and read it twice... are you sure that Anguirel is in that story... because when Anglachel came into the story, Tolkien just said the other sword does not come into this story... and that was that.
