I never mind the black bars myself. I've always loved having widescreenversions of films. Even of VHS, but on DVD it's much clearer and sharper.
I haven't got a WS tv either, I'm still in great doubt if I should get one. I mean, hardly any tv is made for WS and I hate cutting of heads or strectching people to fit the frame. And if I don't then I'd have to buy such a big WS tv to match the size of the one I have now, that I wouldn't have the space for. Dillemma!
Oh yerssot, we don't have to wait too long, just one day: it's being released in the Benelux on OCtober 17. With a little luck I can have it the day or two days before though, when they ship it. I got Hannibal on DVD two days before official release as well. So here's hoping!!
Wide screne rules. You see exactly what the director and cinematographer intend for you to see. It's the best and as far as I'm concerned only way to watch movies. Widescreen TV's are great but not exactly necessary, it's just a little better and less 'black space', and their so damn expensive $2,000-$4,000 for a good SONY! 🙁
