Spoiler-free forum

I’ve asked Raz if it’s possible to DELETE threads entirely.
While I wait for his reply I want to ask you all the following.
If possible, do you want me to DELETE any spoiler threads until after November the 5th? Anything that claims to be a spoiler, or anyone posting spoilers?

It may not be possible, but if?

I was really tempted to say yes, but somehow I chose no. I think I should have chosen yes now...

that wouldnt bother me, those things are just thoughts and stuff. So after November 5th, it'll just clog up the forum more. So...yup, its ok with me 🙂

yah but then theyll just add up to more threads in the forum and thats not good...

some people MIGHT (they shouldnt) like them so maybe just make a sticky up top for people to talk in.. that u delete all and any spoilers in

or the reverse would maybe make sense.. why should we get one thread!? make a spoiler thread..

hmm...maybe. Instead of just deleting all of them, make 1 thread dedicated to all the spoilers people wanna dump, and other people would skip. But only 1, and no more

I'm sure someone will make another one anyway... don't they always? That's what's really annoying... There's the FDT thread & a search option... But, no one cares.

Omega, is it possible to create a thread like the EtM one, except for spoilers, and any spoilers NOT posted in that thread, are deleted/closed? Cos that way, there ARE spoilers, but if you dont wanna read 'em, there is just one thread to ignore rather than a BILLION ZILLON <BIG NUMBERION> THOUSAND... *goes on for another half hour*

It is almost entirely unlikely that we will ever be in a position that spoiler threads will be deleted. One of the purposes of these forums is FOR spoilers that people have every right to read if they wish. Nor should they be forced into one single thread.

However, spoilers within normal threads should be enclosed within spoiler tags. Threads designed to contain spoilers should be clearly labelled as such.

I am afraid you will simply have to exercise some self-discipline.

spoiler tags are for real plot, people want to discuss the film without ruining it it for other people, who still want to discuss it on another level

there is no evidence that these 'spoilers' are real, its some stories (true or not true) people have come up with before the film is released

Anything you think might be a spoiler as opposed to your own speculation should be either labelled in the thread title or tagged.

Ush> What you seem to be missing, and what is the basis of the current frustration among the regulars, is this: People come in here and post theories, which they claim are spoilers. Some are even several months old and already proven to be fake.

This is almost exclusively done by newbies. A spoiler should be something, which is actually real, a real bit of info about the actual Matrix Revolutions. They’re not. People who post them claim the most outlandish reasons for their “spoiler” to be true, then curse and swear when its proven to be false. Or we ask for some proof. After November 5th that won’t be necessary. Now it is, as these spoilers are, in most incidences, just an attempt at getting attention.

I still think some people will post spoilers after the 5th... 😛
