I didn't know you had a JC here. Who is on it?
I'd like to make a suggestion(brace yourselves). One of the problems with a JC is that people who are not on it feel left out. But on an EZboard forum they were doing something which I thought was a great idea.
The Council nominated 3 people and the rest of the members got to vote in a poll as to who was going to be the next member. The one with the most votes became a JC member. It seemed fun and kept people involved.
But it might just turn into a popularity contest and that would be bad. Just an idea anyway.
I can't really say we had much need for a JC the last couple of months anyway. But the place is growing and you know that things get nasty sometime. It's basically Raz who wants to be able to confer about certain things sometimes. But as I said, there's hardly been any need for it in the last few months.
And yes, I agree that people can feel left out. On the other hand, when sensitive things may happen on the boards it's best to be discussed in private by a few senior members I think. But I hope there will be no need for it, so the JC can stay the most boring forum of them all.
Oh KJ, on the JC are, as for now: Raz, Ratcat, Dim, Gundark, queeq, Ushgarak and finti.
Though I note you made a vague attempt to keep it interesting...
Any board worth its salt has a JC equivalent. It is almost impossible to run things any other way. You do have the problem that people often seem to think that they are missing out on something big there (what I jokingly call the 'crazy fun party'😉 but that is nowhere near as big as the problem you have if the Admin doesn't have some trusted people to privately talk about serious board matters with.
WHaaaaatt??? Hmmm, okay. A Fraternity house. You know where you're going after summer? To the university, right? Now, on a university there's a campus and affiliated to a university there are usually student fraternities. In the US these fraternities have houses where they reside. In short they use the fraternity "frat", hence the term "frat house".
