re: silmarillion
by now we've all read the book ... and we all agree that it's not written in the same convention as the trilogy
hence, it's inability to be translated into a movie ... i know, i know ... old and tired argument
but what if they could? what if someone were crazy enough to tackle such a daunting task?
what would that writer(s) need to utilize in order to make it into a movie?
concentrate on one part of the story and disregard all the others that make up the silmarillion?
if you've got to ask yourself...what is the silmarillion?
anyone? anyone? anyone?

It would have to be different. unlike any other movie made. The different stories contained in the silmarillion are each one remarkable, and all related. But individual as well.
The writers would could take advantage of this. Telling the tales separately in different films. Yes, I think there should be more than one movie. Maybee having , valaquenta, and ainulindale as a prolouge to FILM 1, and having the main film focus on the creation of the Silmarils and Fëanor's oath, with the climax beeing the chaining (or unchaining??) of melkor.
Film 2 could focus on Beren and Luthien's tale, and adventures...and film 3 of Turin...ect...
Moments I'd love to see on film...
The fall of Gondolincry
Sauron's lair in ___? I forgot the name
Luthien's battle with Morgoth in Angband.
Huan and carcharoth....🙁
