soy portugues de Lisboa. Es normal los portugueses hablarem castellano. Nosotros entendiemos lo castellano muy bien, mas escribir es mas dificil.

I started with the "portunhol" or "espanholês" version too. It is normal for us 🙂
But I practise a lot working. I have to do many spanish contacts there. So. I left "portunhol" to star speaking a little of real castellano.
