ok, I take it you are talking about the Dutroux- affair?
dutroux means "from my a$$", take that!
That year we were all in shock, not only Flanders, but whole Belgium! The day the truth came, we were one, united in only one color: white
12/10 will always be remembered as the "White march" the biggest march ever in Belgium with more then 100 000 people all in white, the ones that couldn't be there (it was a working day and a school day) all where white on their clothes and on their cars.
We all protested for the way it (yes it! it doesn't deserve the noun "he"😉 was treated, he already was in jail for that and it came free, it was prime suspect but they didn't find the secret basement (those cops who investigated his house are fired because they didn't searched there and are responsible for the death of Julie and Melissa, and probable Ann and Eefje)
It bloody escaped on April 23 a year or two ago! And who finds that b****? Not the cops! someone who works in a forest, HE was the one that saved the day!
When was he arrested? On April 25 (the best birthday present I ever got!)
How did it escape???? It took a gun from the cops (it wasn't bloody loaded!!!!) and he ran away and carjacked an old woman.
(Those cops are also fired and are now unemployed)
When I hear that he gets beatings and gets spit in jail (not only the guards but also from other prisoners) then I smile, I don't want him death, that's only a small suffering, I want it to suffer the rest of his life! Saying it will become 70, that comes down on 30 years!
If they let it free, the possibility of it getting murdered are ... let us say ... 100% (and I will be one of the many holding a gun to its head, I can tell you!)

ACtually, no. "Chose" was correct, dear Dimmy. I wrote: "Thought (as in past tense of the VERB) and chose (as in past tense of the VERB)."
I was reffering to yerss' line: "His parents THOUGHT about it."
🙄 THat I have to correct a native to her own mother tongue. 😉
