Scarface is highly, highly overated. It's a typical "rags to ritches" story, with a bunch of stereotypical Columbian drug lord nods, a bunch of senseless violence, an unnecessary overabundance of cursing, some more Colombian stereotypes, and there you have it.
Now it serves as a gangster rappers life story on film. I swear, people say they like it just to sound cool.
As for Kevin Smith, his brand of humor works on it's target audience. Kids who smoke pot, never leave the house, and subscribe to Maxim.

Well, thanks a bunch! I'm not here to stir the pot with my views/opinions on movies. I'm just real passionate about what I watch, and borderline elitist, with a few guilty pleasures here and there.

Cheers (although Lee is my favorite - all three are legendary actors), on a more serious note i know what you mean i'm not here either to stir up emotions as a result of my replies, like yourself and the majority of others on this site we are all here for our genuine love of the silver screen, i admit i also like movies which are not looked favorably on by others but hey... . 🙂
