That is a good list of bad movies. Although I didn't think Gothica was THAT bad.
yeah, maybe it's not THAT bad but I just don't like halle berry and i think everything what happened was pretty obvious.
....but actually there was a good scene, where the dead girl was in the hallway. she walked backwards, which was played bachwards (result that she walked forward) so that it looked like she walked kinda creepy. ...hope that made sense...don't know how to describe it better...

Whaaaaaaaaaaat the ****? 😂
Let's review what other movies were released in 1997, considering when it was made;
Titanic
Men in Black
Liar Liar
Good Will Hunting
Face Off
The Fifth Element
Austin Powers
Donnie Brasco
Boogie Nights
Lost Highway
The Jackal
Compared to these "Batman & Robin" was indeed shit. Not that 1997 was a blockbuster year, but considering the competition, there's really no comparison.
"Napoleon Dynamite", as if I haven't explained this 1,000 times over, was intentionally stupid. It is, in fact, a stupid movie. The characters are stupid. There is no plot. The music is dated.
That said, it's easily one of MY favorite movies of all time. Why? Because someone took a 5 minute short film and blew it up into a cult phenomenon. There was no VIOLENCE. There was no NUDITY. There was no SWEARING. It was cast with namely adult actors, and after a very small opening run, it was quickly expanded to screens across the nation. 1,027 screens to be exact with a theatrical run of 241 days which is roughly 8 MONTHS. How many other independent films these days can say they lasted that long in theatres? Hell, how many MAINSTREAM films can claim that?
The movie cost $400,000 to make, and they ended up making that ELEVEN, yes 11 times over in theatres alone. $46 MILLION DOLLARS. **** me..it's made $140 MILLION DOLLARS in DVD sales!
It was a stupid movie, and people that think it was a BAD movie obviously haven't understood the dynamics behind it, that it was all intentional. It's a movie about the everyday life of a uber-nerd, and it sold.
If a movie knows that it's stupid does that automatically make it a success?
Regardless, I love that film. Hillarious!
Batman & Robin was indeed an awful film, but I'd hardly call it one of the 'worst movies ever'... That title should be reserved for only the ULTIMATELY crap, the-world-would-be-a-better-place-if-they-didn't-exist movies like Battlefield Earth, Troll 2 and Street Fighter.
I watched Napoleon Dynamite with a friend and he totally didn't get it. That's when I realized, he was popular in highschool. Of course he didn't get it. My wife and I, who were both geeks, totally related.
Now Battlefield Earth...? Dollar for dollar that has got to be the worst movie ever made. 9 mm? barf. Why Nick Cage? Why did you do that to us? Snake eyes? Another Nick Cage tragedy. And has anyone seen the MST3K episode of Manos: Hands of Fate? I love MST3K and even they can't make that movie fun. It's so bad that it's not even fun to mock. But it must have been shot on a budget of about $3.57. Battlefield Earth is still worse considering that millions and millions were spent on it. Long live Torgo!
So many bad movies -
Anything with a lip synching pop-star (Britney Spears, J-Lo, Mariah Carey or Jessica Simpson) - horrible movies from no-talent bums (harsh, but fair, in my world)
Also Battlefield Earth and a lot, lot more.... I think it's easier making bad movie then good.
Oh, and an honorable mention to Stealth, Doom, alot of the straight out action movies over the last couple of years...
If you were to measure the quality of a movie with the potential and hype that surrounded it's release I think you would have to include all the new Star Wars movie.
"What are you talking about, Lord Krondor? Star Wars was flippin sweet! You just can't appreciate movies that have annoying sounds, so much going on the screen that an epileptics head would explode, and crappy, wooden dialogue. Oh, Krondor, you just don't know what makes a good movie."
I stand corrected. Star Wars was t!ts!!!!! Especially the ending, when Vader let out his angry growl, "NOOOOOOOOO!" Why can't the Academy recognize brilliance? Lucas was robbed of at least 6 oscars, Hayden was jewed of at least 1, and the person who made all the loud annoying creatures should have been given a Nobel Prize.
Move over Goodfellas, please step aside Chinatown, a new movie is at the top. Or should I say, three movies? I think we all know the answer.

😐...😬
There are heaps of mad lines in SW and I thought the dialogue was good, but no alas you have to choose one of SW worst moments. It's a little hard to make a series of movies without a few bumps on the road. Geeze, Earl Jones is like 70, we we're lucky to get him all together. You couldn't keep up with SW? 😐 I thought it was pretty easy to understand, next time face the direction of the screen. The sounds were mad, love that retro sound of the lightsaber definitely one of the worlds most known and best sounds.

Now you're just being stupid.

No, I am not retarded. And even if I was I think I could manage to keep up with all of the confusing and complicated twists and turns the plot takes the audience through.
Yeah, watching this movie was like watching 'Memento'. Wherein at the very end of it you are like, "Oh, wow! What an awesomely well-written story. You really have to pay attention in order to know whats going on!" When in reality I went to the bathroom and took the biggest niglet that I have ever had. And after the hour and twenty-three minutes it took me to clean up I discovered that this movie still sucked and that I needed to go to the hospital because I ripped my a$$hole with that turd-muffin.
I was only pointing out that Lucas uses special effects to try and cover up the fact that it was a bad movie. So bad.
