Age old thing of sex sells I guess. She wanted to get away from the bubblegum teenager that Jive originally portrayed her as, and appeal to an older audience. She actually really cannot understand how Xtina and co can get away with it, but people make such a big deal of it when she does. Take the Madonna kiss for example...........

Originally posted by micahrulzMaybe if you actually listened to yourself you would notice that you said she GOT RID of the bubblegum look and tried to look older eg "sex sells" not this cutsie crappy picture in which BTW IMO she is still ugly with eyes that are too far apart and a face that looks like a pig that was smacked in the face with a brick.
Yeah, I can really see that.................... 🙄
I mean, the image. What they portray in their "line of duty" as it were, doesn't necessarily portray who they are in real life. It's a business, and first and foremost, all businesses are there to make money. Eg: In 2003, the Britney Empire pulled in approx 39.8 million dollars. Yes, she portrayed herself as an easy ride in the video for "Slave" but the song was "sexual" and needed a sexual image to go with it. Xtina's Dirrty video was along the same lines. They have to act out whatever part is necessary to make money at the time. They also need to shock to grab people's attention.
Miss Kinky, I completely respect your opinion, you think that Britney is ugly. But can you just say that? I think it's the over the top personal comments that piss some people off. I think Kelly Osbourne is unattractive (I don't think that anyone deserves the word ugly really), but that's all I'd say about her.
Anyway, I want to post one of my favourite Brit pics.
Hey y'all, hows it going? Hope everyone is ok. Hi SS! Just got your e-mail, thank you for the pic, it was lovely. Just found some info that I thought was kind of interesting, I've edited a lot out, because the report was huge.
Cosmetics maker Elizabeth Arden is teaming up with film star and fashion designer Hilary Duff to launch a new line of fragrances in the US in the fall of 2006, due to be followed by a global rollout.
The new fragrance line will join other celebrity-endorsed Elizabeth Arden fragrances, by names including Elizabeth Taylor and Britney Spears.
“Hilary is the natural choice to reach fragrance buyers of all ages here and abroad, as she is recognized globally for her tremendous talent and glamorous star appeal,” said Elizabeth Arden chief executive officer Scott Beattie.
Its licensing deal with 22 year-old Britney Spears last year, initially cited as ‘risky' by analysts, proved a successful marketing strategy, with Britney Spear's perfume, Curious, becoming the number one selling women's fragrance during the all-important holiday season in 2004.
“The declining women's fragrance market in the US hides a frenetic ‘backstage' environment where manufacturers and retailers are pursuing several avenues to try to ignite sales and excitement. With the industry leaning heavily towards celebrity endorsements and the association with status, this category is expected to grow sales,” said the report.
Yet despite the expense, the right endorsement can create leading sales, as demonstrated by the Britney Spears endorsed fragrance, Curious. But equally Mintel pointed out that mixing the wrong name with wrong product can be a disastrous and very costly exercise for cosmetic companies.
Good luck Hilary! I wonder if it will pull in the same success as Curious?
Hey, the resident celebrity returns!
Miss Kinky, I listen to myself all day, and the picture posted was a new picture I found of Britney singing Everytime. The point to prove was that she doesn't always look, as you so eloquently put it "a cheap tramp".
Nice description of Britney by the way. I bet you're pulling in millions as the Supermodel you must be................

Definately not 100% yet, but on my way. Taken some time out for myself, and it's been really good. I'll be fine, but thank you ever so much for asking. That's really sweet. xx 🙂
On the topic of Britney and her looks, she's a very unusual looking woman. She can look absolutely beautiful in one picture, and nothing special in another. Sometimes I think that her face can look really hard. I mean, I wouldn't say that she looked really attractive in the Everytime video, but then I guess she wasn't supposed to!
For me, I'd say the thing that makes her attractive is her smile. I think she has the prettiest smile, and it really lights up her face. Smiles are important to me, I think they're infectious.
