Pop babe Britney Spears is going to have the world’s best dressed baby — decked out by her fashion pal Donatella Versace.
The singer got a call out of the blue from the legendary stylist offering to create the tot a complete wardrobe for free.
Donatella’s fashion firm designed the famous safety pin dress Liz Hurley wore at the 1994 premiere of Four Weddings And A Funeral.
Sources close to Britney and hubby Kevin Federline say they jumped at the chance of having their baby — due this month — dressed in designer gear.
A pal said last night: “Britney was over the moon when Donatella offered to make all the kid’s clothes.
“They have met a few times and mingle in the same circles, but Britney never expected such a generous offer.
“Britney and Donatella have a mutual friend in Madonna and Britney was very impressed by how Madge’s daughter was kitted out.
“She is hoping that her baby will be the trendiest since Madonna’s own daughter, Lourdes!”
Britney Spears is eight months pregnant and dealing with all of the things that go with it. So-- what about the fans?
Star People says there has been a revolt.
Britney Spears' fans are venting that the official Britney Spears fan club Web site isn't delivering what it promises. In a blizzard of Web postings on britneyspears.musictoday.com, fans have written that updates on Britney, contests, multimedia extras and other membership features are either missing or lackluster.
Although the site's manager, Musictoday, didn't return Star People's call, Britney's rep did say:
"Britney hasn't written a letter to the site lately as she's trying to get herself settled with the baby. But she loves writing her letters and will start again soon."
Britney's official site has a prayer from Brit for all of the victims of Hurricane Katrina.
That and a birth of a first child does seem a bit more important.
Geez, what is with these people? There are more important things in the world than Fan Clubs. Besides, as Britney is basically off on Maternity Leave, it's up to the Site's Manager to update. Slam him!

Anyway, in answer to your question, no, to the best of my knowledge, that rumour is not correct. Britney is currently taking time out to be with her family, be a mother and work on her next album which is scheduled for release in 2006/7.

BRITNEY SPEARS has rubbished rumours she has given birth to her first child prematurely.
A British tabloid today (12SEP05) claims the singer was rushed to hospital in California over the weekend (10-11SEP05) - but Spears insists reports she went into labour early are completely untrue.
Her UK publicist DAVID FROSSMAN says, "Britney Spears has not given birth.
"She's not even in hospital.
"The baby is due some time in the next month.
It has been reported on French Radio that Britney has recorded a comeback to her ex, Justin Timberlakes "Cry Me A River". The POP STAR, who will be going back to work on her 6th Album four monthes after give birth, has reportedly wrote a song called "The River You Cried" as is to be featured on her next album rumored to be called "The Original Doll". Other songs that have been rumored for the next album are "Mona Lisa", "Ouch", and "Money, Love, and Happiness".
IN the celebrity world, a baby is always a miracle, their arrival is always proceeded by a bout of full siren-wailing drama. Theirs is the gift of the big entrance.
So when we first heard Britney Spears was pregnant, we expected nothing less than the complete celebrity experience. And today we are not surprised to learn on the Sun’s front page of “BRITNEY BABY DASH”.
The singer was “rushed” to a hospital in California four weeks before she was booked in for her caesarean. And in “Britney rushed to hospital”, we learn of “FEARS FOR HER UNBORN BABY”.
What these fear are, the Sun does not say. And while we wonder whether they are fears over the little bundle of joy’s health, his choice of agent or both, the Sun does remind us that this is Britney’s third baby scare.
The first saw her experiencing stomach pain. The second featured a premature separation of the placenta from the uterus. And now there’s this, whatever this is.
The Sun is not certain what has happened, but it does say US radio stations are reporting that Britney’s baby has been delivered.
Which, if right, is great news. And we, like the Sun, would like to wish Britney, husband Kevin and the little love the very best.
Well, as we've already heard, this is a load of crap.....
