Pictures, Village Roadshow Pictures, Joel Silver and IMAX Corporation will open "The Matrix Revolutions: The IMAX Experience" exclusively in select IMAX® theatres worldwide on November 5, 2003, marking the first time a live-action Hollywood event film will be released simultaneously in traditional 35mm and IMAX 15/70 formats on the same day.
Producers of The Matrix Revolutions are mounting a second revolution with this unprecedented release, providing, with the release to IMAX theatres, an alternate viewing opportunity for audiences seeking the ultimate, immersive movie-going experience. IMAX audiences will experience crystal clear images of The Matrix Revolutions on screens up to eight stories tall surrounded by 12,000 watts of pure digital surround sound. The film has been digitally re-mastered for the unparalleled image and sound quality of The IMAX Experience®, using the revolutionary and proprietary IMAX® DMR(TM) (Digital Re-mastering) technology.
