The theory of Maul coming back is just from the idea that Maw (name is similar...) is also cut in half but still lifes and fight (see Dark Forces II)

From a story point of view bringing back Maul would be so utterly redundant, of course. It would nullify the point of his existence which was to look cool, feel evil and then die.

My theory is that it's going to be the third movie of a six part series.
