I'm having a bit of trouble understanding some of the frenzied of hype with KH. a joke theory with my friends is that it's all because of cloud and sephiroth.
They definetly added a neatness to the original game, but neither were all that important in the original. although I was scared shitless when I first tried fighting sephiroth. that musical score alone gave me a chill.

I have 1 question about KH2. Who are all these wierd characters in the trailers, and why is it so serious? I mean, the original wasn't enarly as serious as this new one is being portrayed.

I don't know about that, I think Riku will have a pretty big part. You won't play with him or watch most of what he does in action. Remember "Another Side Another Story" and "Deep Dive?" It appeared that Riku was the main dude in that, talking with that other unknown. Riku will probably team up with that blonde guy and somebody else while Mickey goes to Sora.
All I know for sure about the second though is that it will have a very different plot than the first one. It seems like it will be more serious.
