Alone
I sit alone, within my thoughts,
You cannot find me there.
This is my final solace,
My final sacred lair.
My fragile mind is bursting,
Bursting at the seams.
Although you break my body,
You cannot break my dreams.
I watch you sleep, I cannot breathe,
I know that you will wake.
I love you still, but still I fear,
My peace will too soon break.
Dreams
Dreams are our playground,
Dreams are our cage.
Dreams are our childhood,
Our fortress, our stage.
In dreams we are loved,
In dreams we have wings.
In dreams we can say
We alone hold the strings.
I dreamed you don’t leave me,
I dreamed that you stayed.
I dreamed that you left
The wooden bed that we made.
I dream of the silence,
I dream of the noise.
I dream we are more
Than simply just toys.
Scream
Can’t you hear me screaming?
You turn away from me.
Am I so repulsive
That you can’t bear to see?
I know that I am worthless.
I know I fail to shine.
But these words pour from my heart –
You can’t take them, they are mine.
I’m calling for you, with no words
But I cannot tell you why,
When all that falls, from your sweet lips,
Is lie piled upon lie.
The blood that falls, from my white skin,
Leaves patterns in the dust.
I do not know why I love you,
I only know I must.
Ailuj's Moor
I sit in my room,
Up in Ailuj’s Moor,
And learn of the Raven
Who quoth “Nevermore,”
I live in my dreamworld
And enter all ya
Who are seekers of knowledge,
Imagination’s the key.
I brush out my locks,
Like a girl in a tower.
I don’t have the keys,
And it’s nigh witching hour.
There are eyes all around me,
Above and below.
They’re landscapes I’ve drawn,
But they’re only so-so.
So-so is my nature,
So-so is my name.
I drift through my time,
But it’s not just a game.
