Ultimate X-men (or any ultimate line for that matter) is Marvel's way of re-explaining the stories of the Marvel Universe's favorite characters for a younger generation.
For instance, it'd be pretty hard to collect ALL the stories from the X-Men ever since they started (unless you're REALLY REALLY rich or have LOADS of time to read all of it).
So they started over in a younger, hipper version that yes, has some descrepencies in the story-line as opposed to the regular series and yes, does seem like an alternate reality.
Mainly Marvel's main goal with this line is to get kids to start reading comics again because, let's face it, most people who read comics are in their 20s-30s. It's very rare you find a 10 year old interested in comics. Where I go to buy comics, the man who works there says I'm pretty much the youngest besides two 18 year olds that come in the store and I'm 21.
So there you have it. When the Ultimate line was announced, people were furious they would see their favorite characters in a whole new light (for instance, Jean sleeping with Wolverine, the teams being different, etc.) but once the series started rolling, people welcomed the fresh new outlook.
So, there, not so succintly, is what I've gathered from the Ultimate line of story-telling.

Oh and I'm dying for Exiles to do a take on the Ultimate X-Men. Anyone hear any buzz on that?

Should Bryan Singer be allowed to keep on writing Ultimate X-men since he betrayed Marvel comics and Fox by droping X-men 3 by going to the enemy DC comics and making SuperMan movie.

I say no. Cause why should we let him write x-men when he could of made one of the best comic movies ever but no he decided to go to DC comics our rivals and help them make SUPER MAN!

Bryan is basically saying that he would give a whole year to Ultimate X-Men but can't give a few months to X3.

Some of the reason for him doing Ultimate X-Men was so that he would get to know the characters and add some new things to each one as an inspiration for when he finally did X3. But since he is no longer doing the film he should just leave the X-Men comics alone.

Yea. And i beet most of his mutant in the comics wont fly.

Eh I don't care. Wasn't that found of Singer, and to be honest I'm sorta happy he won't be directing X-3

At the moment I'm happy with Ultimate but that wasn't until issue 50 ✅ The next three issues look pretty good. So I don't mind if he stays -shrugs-

Yeah I was in California over the summer, and my uncle's computer was all infested with viruses. So computer use was basically a no go. But I was working anyways...
