I think that J&L&S trusted Wormtail until the very end. Remember that Wormtail was James' secret keeper. I think that Wormtail was lured by the power the Voldemort promised, and perhaps a bit scared by him, and cared more for himself than his friends, and gave James' secret away

thats why i thought maybe something happened, but yea the way sirius talks to peter in PoA seems to say that peter has always been looking out for power
