JRR Tolkien

I don't mean any offense to anybody about this question...I was just curious to know.....I was wondering what "race" Tolkien was....All I know is he was born in Africa.......

I'm fairly sure he's British.

British parents, born in South Africa (if I remember correctly) then very soon after moved to England and lived there from then on. He was British.

Yes, he and his brother (whose birthday is the same as mine 🙂 ) were born in South Africa, that's where Tolkien got his arachnophoby from... some enormous spider there 😄

He moved back to England soon but only with his mother and brother.
His father died before he returned.
And, race, yes, westeuropean white 😉
But - why?

And yeah, he is part of the human race 🙂 We come in different colours and sizes, but are all the same 😄

I think the only thing that would matter is where he lived, which would be England (except when he was little) because the geography of Middle Earth is based on Europe a little.

Tolkien's intention was to create a mythology for England.

This is really random, but did anyone know that there is a place in Africa called the Shire. Coincidence... I think not ✅

What about the UK:

CheSHIRE
LancaSHIRE
etc.

the word shire is used in England to describe any small town.
