Why can Neo destroy Sentinels again?

i have read that it has to do with his connection to the source but i dont understand what the source has to do with the REAL world. if the machine world is actually the real world, isnt he just a normal powerless human?

also, how could mr smith destroy the machines anyway?

any clarification would be appreciated

Okay, there’s the “Matrix question” thread for this.
But just because I just stuck it up at the top again:

The Oracle tells Neo that his powers (e.i. the anomaly-code) extends beyond the Matrix and all the way back to where it came from. The Source. The Source doesn’t just sit inside the Matrix. It exists as the machine-mainframe in the real world as well.
Neo just wasn’t aware of this until he stopped the Sentinels at the end of Reloaded. You can basically think of the anomaly as nothing more peculiar than a very complex remote-control. Just like Smith was able to download himself into Bane’s brain-circuits, the anomaly was downloaded into Neo at the end of M1.
The Machine City IS in the real world just as Zion is. The thing is, that since the anomaly originates from the big machine-mainframe, the big master-controller of the ENTIRE machine world, Neo is basically capable of influencing ANYTHING that’s connected to it, be they AI-programs running around in the program Matrix, or Sentinels and bombs. Sentinels and bombs are run by programs, too, and those programs are linked to the Source.

Smith would be able to destroy not only the Matrix but also machine city by infecting the PROGRAMS that run machine city. Because machine city is as much connected to the Source as the Matrix is.

Better? 🙂

Does Neo touch the source when he goes through the door of light? I remember the Oricle saying something about it being the machine Mainframe...(The building he goes in)

thanks you Omega - exactly what i needed to know

You're welcome. 🙂
