I saw spiderman 2.
what a simple sentance. too simple for such a complicated and amazing and supercalifragilisticexpialadocious movie. the sentance should be:"I have experienced Spider-man 2." or "I have witnessed a phenomanon." or "I want another sequal now." Beeing here in dallas with my brother and my super cool superhero sister and my brother in-law...sitting in the movies watching good vs evil, eating pizza, popcorn, skittles and starbursts....You could feel the excitement the wonderfullness of it all..I saw kids dressed in spidey costumes...I saw spiderman tshirts....I saw action figures....I heard people around me talking about comics and marvel....I heard people speaking in low tones about how the movie was going to exceed the original....I heard laughter, I heard crying....I heard gasps, and....applause.
But what I felt, was passion, emotion and buzz...it was all around me, and in me. So many people all coming for the same reason...to see a movie, to be entertained....to watch a hero...their hero. at least in fantasy.
Everything I wanted to see in this movie was there, and more. All my hopes and expectations were not lost, were not crushed or ruined...they were exceeding waaaay beyond my bigest dreams....call me crazy, but this movie was just plain WOW!
I looked thru the view finder of my camcorder as I saw the approaching cinema...I saw poster after poster lining the exterior of the building...heroic shots of toby standing on buildings or swinging thru the air, or mary jane. We walked to the boxoffice where the lady wearing a doc ock tshirt gave us our tickets...Inside we waited for an hour in line to go into the movie...but it didn't seem that long...People of all races and ages were around us....an old woman with gray hair was watching "spiderman 1" on her portable DVD player....another lady was returning to the line full of spiderman themed candy and popcorn....I looked up to see a huge cardboard cutout of Doctor Ocktopus looming over me...
How can one movie be so compeling, and make me want to see it so bad? is it the marketing?...no its magic😉
When I left, I was completly satisfyed...I saw everything I wanted and more...✅
